Types of dates available for export
Deglat Nour, Libya
First class (saline)
Second degree (Honey)
Third Degree (dry)
ـــــــــــــــ
In order to complete the understanding; The gradation in this designation is only to indicate the state of maturity of dates, as dates go through three stages of maturity:
-
- المرحلة الأولى: هي نضج نصف التمرة السفلي أو “أقل أو أكثر” بحيث يكون الجزء العلوي من التمر بلحاً، وتحتفظ التمرة بلونها الفاتح ولمعانها.
-
- The second stage is the ripening of the entire date, while retaining the shape close to the date’s character. In most cases, this type is more moist and viscous than “marinated and dry together,” and it is called the honeycomb due to the sweetness of its taste, the degree of moisture and its viscosity.
-
- The third stage is the completion of the date’s maturity to become more solid, while retaining the full benefit, whether in its nutritional composition or its sweet taste.
And therefore; The naming of the Daqla dates classifications is for indication only and not for the gradual increase or decrease in their nutritional benefits or quality.
Also, each of these degrees has a customer who prefers one over the other and vice versa. The evidence is that most of the export orders in Dekleh are of the third “dry” class due to their durability of weather factors, transportation, handling and storage, and here it must be remembered that they are tastes and we all have our own taste.
